Favstar collects stars from hundreds of thousands of people, so it takes time to get around to everyone. We pay more attention to people that are following @favstar, and have signed in at least once. After those people, the next priority goes to their followers. It’s generally your followers who give you stars, so encourage them to follow @favstar if you want their stars collected more frequently.

GlobalQuad.com, a site launched last week, is focused on helping its users do just that. It’s a niche Web site that chronicles college life via Twitter. Indeed, GlobalQuad itself is a sort of microcosm of that popular micro-blogging site, aggregating the 140-character tweets of institutions and their affiliated student or community groups.

So what if your presentation software could send tweets on your behalf that were timed to the slides of your presentation? You could effectively simulcast your presentation through the backchannel as a part of the conversation, adding ‘more info’ links, credits, or anything else you could imagine…
Enter Keynote Tweet, a simple open-source script that provides the capacity to participate in the backchannel by combining Twitter with Apple Keynote. All you have to do is add text wrapped in [twitter] and [/twitter] tags in the presenter notes section of a slide. When that slide comes up in the presentation the script grabs that text and sends it to Twitter on your behalf.
